Tim Etchells’ improvised solo is based on a seemingly chaotic selection of texts from his notebooks – combining ideas, puns, newspaper headlines, meandering thoughts, overheard conversations, quotes, and stories into an experimental scrapbook of memories. The project, which developed out of a collaboration with French choreographer Boris Charmatz and Lebanese sound artist Tarek Atoui, plays with the question of what happens when things are taken out of context: how do messages, realities, and truths change? A Broadcast / Looping Pieces is a spectacular improvisation session and a unique look into Etchells' creative process, as well as a reflection on our relationship to language and reality.
